Zinc and copper are in the ratio of 5 : 3 in 200 gm of an alloy.How much grams of copper be added to make the ratio as 3 : 5?

Weight of zinc $=\frac{5}{8}\times 200=125 gm$

Weight of copper=200-125=75 gm

Let the weight of copper be x gram in the new ratio 3 : 5

$\frac{125}{x}=\frac{3}{5}$ $x=\frac{625}{3} gram$

Copper to added $=\frac{625}{3}-75=133\frac{1}{3} gm$
