FOR ALL THE EXPLORERS OUT THERE

All my life, I have been really passionate about bikes, cars and anything which works on the principles of mechanics. Right from my childhood, I knew that my place was in the mechanical world and so, after pursuing science in school, I decided to enroll for the Mechanical Engineering course. I am Chandan Rajput and I am here to tell you people about how I went about the admission process. Since my focus in mechanical engineering, two universities that caught my attention were the JECRC University Jaipur and the Manipal University.

JECRC University located in the historical city of Jaipur is one the most sought after institute in Rajasthan and India. With exceptional academic track record, JECRC University has emerged as one of the most respectable universities attracting students from all over the country. Infrastructure facilities are decent although some students feel that the hostels could be improved. JECRC required the candidate to have a minimum of 55% aggregate score in their 10 + 2 examination. The admissions are based on the JEE Mains score for undergraduate courses and based on the GATE scores for the postgraduate scores. Placements are amazing and the university has a tie-up with IBM and Microsoft for training programs.

Manipal University Jaipur is another institute that was on my list. With State of the Art facilities, Manipal University has one of the best campuses in India. They have two campuses in India – the first one is located in Manipal, Karnataka and the other at Jaipur, Rajasthan. Manipal University offers all the courses that you could possibly think of. From engineering to medicine to law to hotel management, Manipal University caters to the needs of all kinds of students. Mechanical engineering at Manipal is one course that students die for. Manipal University is a regular at the various SAE events both in India and abroad. One of the biggest advantages here is the alumni network and the diversity of the crowd that comes here. You get to meet people from totally different backgrounds but having similar interests as yours and this makes learning all the more fun. Manipal admits students based on the rank secured in the Manipal Engineering/Medical Entrance Examination for the engineering and medical courses. Placements at Manipal are great, and it is really hard to not get a job here.

To summarize, JECRC University and Manipal University are two universities that should definitely be on your list. Life here is supposed to be great and the learning curve offered here is exceptional. Above all, you get to interact with some of the brightest minds in the country.
